AURÉ

I am currently a Masters student in Communication Sciences at the Université de Montréal. I hold a BA in Sociology & Cultural Studies from the University of Sussex. My research centers around identity politics, popular culture studies, and representation in media. I like to write poetry and fiction, and to explore the processes of turning words and ideas into art and multimedia content.

In a few words, explain what drew you to this project.

I love the project’s multi-disciplinary approach of a fascinating topic that is at the heart of everybody’s everyday lives, and yet that most of us still have so much to learn about.

Q & A

How would you describe your relationship to sleep?

Anxious, complicated, passionate.

Are you an early bird or night owl?

My best ideas are born in the depths of the night, and my deepest sleep unfolds as the rest of the world awakens.

What is the strangest place you have ever fallen asleep?

On a train, on my way out of London. I didn’t know I had gotten on the wrong one, a shorter line. I rode it all the way to the end of the line and back. I woke up in Central London extremely confused!

What is your favourite [song/podcast/video/audio book/tv show] to fall asleep to?

The Hunting Song by Pentangle
