I am an artist, writer and educator. My research focuses on digital creation, embodiment, food, and place. My work has been shown in exhibitions and festivals across Canada and internationally, and my writing has appeared in professional and peer-reviewed art and food culture publications. I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication at l’Université de Montréal.
In a few words, explain what drew you to this project.
I am interested in developing methods for increasing attunement to place, to plants, animals, and insects. This is an opportunity to explore techniques for cultivating immersive states, imagination and dreaming, to become better attuned.
How would you describe your relationship to sleep?
Troubled.
Why do you find sleep a compelling site for research?
In sleep we dream, and I believe that collective dreaming of possible futures is crucial, especially in the face of climate catastrophe and political polarization.
What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about sleep?
That what happens there is insignificant to waking life.
